Baxter Gardens is a mother and daughter partnership, established in 2016.

With over 30 years’ combined experience, we design and create gardens that are practical and made to be lived in. We believe a garden should feel as natural and well thought out as the interior of a home.

We plan carefully how a garden works. Through the seasons and how it matures over time. Structure, planting and good quality materials form the backbone.

Our approach is collaborative and client led. Some clients come to us with a clear brief, others with a more open starting point. In all cases, we take the time to understand how the space needs to function and how it connects to the house.

From initial concept through to design, build and ongoing care, we remain closely involved throughout. We work with a trusted network of landscapers, tradespeople and nurseries to ensure everything is delivered with care and attention to detail. Planting is central to our work, and we oversee its installation on every project, often continuing to care for the garden as it establishes.

We are based in London, with occasional forays into the wider countryside. Every client we have worked with has come to us through word of mouth, and we have never felt the need to change that We take on a limited number of projects each year, allowing us to give each one the attention it requires.
